I met Dana twenty years ago at UT when we practically lived in the basement of Sutton Hall during a merciless architecture program. This is where and when Dana discovered the importance of having a comfortable living space and that there is truly no place like home…especially if you never get to go there.

Being from Laredo, Dana speaks fluent Spanish and always impresses me by pronouncing menu items correctly at local restaurants. She got her degree in Sociology from Tulane and then got to Austin as soon as possible, where she has been a loyal Austinite for twenty years. Well, except for 9 months spent in Houston, but she got extra Austin credits by working at Dell for more than 5 years after her return.

Dana’s a great cook and if you’re really lucky, she’ll bake you a fabulous chocolate cake with hot pink icing for your baby shower. She’s very active and frankly, I can’t keep up with her. I mean, she used to teach aerobics so you can just imagine. I have known her to rollerblade, hike, bike, water-ski, play guitar, sing, and even tap dance a little…but you have to know her for a long time to get to see those last three. Her boundless energy is matched only by that of her new best friend, Milos. Milos (pronounced MEE-los) is an adorable black Schnoodle that has captured her heart and dug up her yard.

Not only is Dana lots of fun, but she’s also as bright as a copper penny, has a razor sharp wit and an equally sharp memory for names, faces, and numbers. These qualities should all serve her well Hunting for Habitats for you.
